DEFENDER ANNOUNCED AS FINALIST FOR NZ CAR OF THE YEAR

The New Zealand Motoring Writers’ Guild has released a list of the ten new vehicles selected as finalists for the 2020 New Zealand Car of the Year title. Earning a spot in the lineup is our new Defender.

The Guild represents more than 20 motoring journalists from around the country and is considered the most prestigious New Zealand Car of the Year award, given its longevity over more than three decades and quality of independent assessments.

“To have the new Defender 110 acknowledged for the New Zealand Car of The Year Award is a true testament to the excellent capability, durability, design and technology of this vehicle,” says Steve Kenchington, Jaguar Land Rover NZ General Manager.

“The new model represents 70-years of innovation and improvement; honouring the vehicle’s history for rugged solidity whilst remaining a Defender for the 21st century. The launch of the new Defender is one of the biggest automotive launches of the year and one of the most memorable of my career, this is a vehicle I am incredibly proud of.”

The 2020 winner will be revealed live on Seven Sharp during the first week of December.
